About 600 kilograms of Goheung rice and 21,000 pieces of dried seaweed from the waters of Geogeumdo were used.

Gimbap or kimbap is a Korean dish made from steamed white rice (bap) and various other ingredients, rolled in gim (sheets of dried laver seaweed) and served in bite-size slices.
Gimbap is often eaten during picnics or outdoor events, or as a light lunch, served with danmuji or kimchi.

The previous world record was a 1,030 meter gimbap made in the southeastern city of Daegu in August 2013.
