SASKATOON, Canada -- Students and staff from Community Learner's High School (CLHS) set the world record for the longest long john doughnut in the world, at close to 19.5 feet (nearly six-metre long) long; the long john doughnut weighs 15 pounds, and is topped with icing and rainbow sprinkles,

The Guinness World Records' record for the tallest stack of doughnuts measured 110.5 cm (43.5 in) and was built by members of 20th Century Fox and Capital Radio to celebrate the premier of The Simpsons Movie (USA, 2007), at the offices of Capital Radio in Leicester Square, London, UK on 25 July 2007. A team of eight built the stack in a pyramidal structure using 1,764 ring doughnuts.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest serving of doughnuts; it weighs 856 kg (1,887 lb 2.56 oz) and was achieved by Television Company "ERA" 7 Channel (Kazakhstan) in Almaty, Kazakhstan, on 7 September 2014.

The bakery, which is run by Community Learners High School in the city, is encouraging the public to come see the long john and to buy a doughnut to help support the school's programs.

The doughnut campaign is part of the Business for Social Good Venture Challenge, in which local businesses are "addressing community issues in Saskatoon."
The campaign that raises the most money will also receive $50,000. Keith Jorgenson and students are fundraising to convert a section of the former Pleasant Hill Bakery near St. Paul's Hospital into an affordable cafeteria for students at CLHS.

Community Learner's High School is a small one-room school of 40 students. The student body consists of young mothers, students who can't thrive in a traditional school environment, and the homeless, among others.
Donations can be made online through indigogo.com . People who donate $100 will have a doughnut named after them.

The school is a vocational program which provides sheltered work and academic training. The school offers commercial cooking classes and students can take home some of what they have made, principal Lisette Denis said.
