 Largest packaged food pyramid: Nissin Foods breaks Guinness World Records record (VIDEO)

YOKOHAMA, Japan -- In celebration of the 44th anniversary of the debut of Cup Noodles, Nissin Foods employees stacked 57,155 Cup Noodles in 69 ascending layers to create a pyramid 7.4 meters (24.3 feet) tall, which sets
the new world record for the Largest packaged food pyramid, according to the World Record Academy .

The Guinness World Records' record for the largest packaged food mosaic measures 24.7 m (81 ft 0.44 in) in length, 38.6 m (126 ft 7.68 in) in width, and was achieved by Sharp MEA FZE, in Dubai World Trade Center, Dubai, UAE, on 3 October 2013. 149 employees created the mosaic out of 79,300 packs of food that were donated the food to UAE red crescent society.

  Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the longest line of hamburgers; it is 306.27 m (1,004 ft 10 in) and was achieved by The Kuwait Food Co. Americana (Kuwait), in Kuwait city, Kuwait, on 30 May 2009.

    The award for "largest packaged food pyramid" was won when Nissin employees stacked 57,155 Cup Noodles in 69 ascending layers to create a pyramid 7.4 meters (24.3 feet) tall.

    The finished pyramid will remain on display at the Cupnoodles Museum in Yokohama until September 23, 2015.

    Beginning September 25, 2015, the pyramid will be disassembled and all 57,155 Cup Noodles used in the challenge will be given away as gifts to museum visitors.

     Cup Noodles first went on sale on September 18, 1971, as the world's first cup-type instant noodles. To mark Cup Noodle's 44th anniversary this year, the company has been enthusiastically promoting the message "It's OK to go over the top. Don't think about it, just be the hottest you can be! Nobody wants to live a cold life!", based on the slogan "STAY HOT!" The challenge was conducted to embody that message.
