Largest Jammie Dodger biscuit: world record set by Frances Quinn

   LONDON, UK -- Great British Bake Off winner Frances Quinn from Market Harborough teamed up with Hambleton Bakery , from Exton, Rutland, to produce a 4ft 2 inches (127cm) long Jammie Dodger style biscuit which weighed in at 26.76 kg, thus setting the new world record for the Largest Jammie Dodger biscuit (Largest jam filled biscuit) , according to the World Record Academy .

The Guinness World Records world record for the largest wafer biscuit weighed 2.13 kg (4 lb 11 oz) and was made by Rolf Moen (Norway) in Austvatn, Norway, on 9 August 2008. The wafer had a diameter of 63.5 cm (2 ft 9 in).

     Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest cream-filled biscuit; it weighed 28.24 kg (62 lb 4 oz), measured 101 cm (39 in) in length and 69.5 cm (27 in) in width, and was achieved by Hoppe Food Group & Midden Brabant College (Netherlands), at the Midden Brabant College, in Tilburg, Netherlands, on 1 November 2011.

     The 35-year-old, who won the GBBO title in 2013, created the giant biscuit - the Grand Slammy Dodger - in the shape of tennis racquet to celebrate Wimbledon, The Leicester Mercury reports.

   The baking tin, which was used to house the 26kg of filling, was made to measure by a local blacksmith.

   The monster biscuit, which had to be lifted into and out of the industrial-sized oven by a team of men, included 12 kg of plain flour, 7.2kg of butter and 4kg of strawberry jam.

   The other ingredients included: 4.8kg of icing sugar, 1.92kg of egg yolk, 10g vanilla, 10g salt and 400g water. ( enlarge photo )

Frances said the giant biscuit took its inspiration from the popular British "Jammie Dodgers" biscuit and was handed out as free samples at Hambleton Bakery's six shops in Rutland and Leicestershire and Northants.

   The same team claimed another record in February by baking the world's largest Jaffa Cake .
   Frances and the Hambleton Bakery team produced a 4ft (124cm) monster weighing 50kg.

    Frances said her next challenge could be a giant Bourbon biscuit.
