 Largest' build-your-own' Bloody Mary bar: Fort Collins bar sets world record

Fort Collins, CO, USA -- The Silver Grill in Old Town Fort Collins (Cafe manager Heather Beckman) featured more than 50 pickled garnishes from pickled quail eggs to rhubarb and apples during the 'world's largest' build-your-own Bloody Mary bar , according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/.

  Cafe manager Heather Beckman, who hand-pickled most of the 45 accompaniments (35 of which are pickled), said the endeavor that began as an experiment with pickled Brussels sprouts "turned out really awesome," The Coloradoan reported.

The Guinness world record for the smallest permanent licensed bar in the world is the "Blomberger Saustall", which has a total internal floor area of 5.19 m² (55 ft² 124.5 in²). It is owned by Reinhold Mennecke (Germany).

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most cocktails commercially available is 1,244 and they are listed in the menu of Pench's Cocktail Bar in Varna (Bulgaria).

  Co-owner Michael Ann Comeau said Rubin's Red, a mild sauce with cayenne, black peppercorns and garlic, is most recommended for Bloody Marys.

  The Green, which also includes habaneros and serranos, is preferable for folks who want more heat.

  Among the more unusual pickled items: celery, orange rind, jicama, hearts of palm, apple, pea pods and mushrooms. More traditional, nonpickled options included horseradish, lemons and shrimp.
