  Largest Collection of Tomb Raider Memorabilia: Rodrigo Martin Santos breaks Guinness World Records' record (VIDEO)

MADRID, Spain -- Gamer Rodrigo Martin Santos, 27, has been collecting Tomb Raider Memorabilia after he saw drawings of Lara Croft in a Spanish magazine; his stash includes video games, films, posters, figures and of course, life-sized Lara Croft statues; he has won himself the world record for Largest Collection of Tomb Raider Memorabilia thanks to his whopping collection of 2,383 items, according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/ .

The Guinness World Records' record for the largest collection of toothpaste tubes is 2,037 and belongs to Val Kolpakov (USA), in Alpharetta, Georgia, USA, on 15 June 2012.

  Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the e largest collection of Iron Maiden memorabilia; it is 4,168 items and belongs to Rasmus Stavnsborg (Denmark), in Karlslunde, Denmark on 9 February 2012.

   Santos, who has been collecting Tomb Raider merchandise since 1996, owns the original costume worn by model Rhona Mitra in Tomb Raider 2 and one of only 50 life sized Lara Croft and Rose statues ever made.

  Commenting on his world record, the Tomb Raider-loving Spaniard explained: "I became a fan of Tomb Raider when I was nine and have spent the last 18 years collecting memorabilia from the Tomb Raider saga.

   "My favourite items from the collection include a sketch made by Toby Gard, the creator of Lara Croft, and the poster of the second Tomb Raider movie signed by all the cast, including Angelina Jolie. I never thought I could get to achieve a World Record, it is certainly a wonderful experience I will never forget."
