Largest painted sign on the ground: Australia breaks Guinness world record
MELBOURNE, Australia -- A giant 561 feet (170 metre) by 297 feet (90 metre) advert for a betting company, situated near the international airport in Melbourne and is designed in such a way that passengers can see it clearly from airplanes; it sets

The Guinness world record for the Largest collection of 'Do Not Disturb' signs was set by Jean-François Vernetti (Switzerland) who has collected 11,111 different 'Do Not Disturb' signs from hotels in 189 countries across the world since 1985.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most books signed by one author in a single session; it is 1,951 by the ex-World Champion in chess Anatoli Karpov (Russia) who signed "El Camino de una Voluntad" by David Llada and Anatoli Karpov on 21 October 2006 during the Third Mexico City Chess Festival in Mexico.
The 170-metre-by-90-metre image by online bookmaker Sportsbet, features the slogans "Rooting for the wallabies" with the twitter hashtag #rootingforoz and threatens to reignite a debate about industry standards.
A spokesman for Sportsbet, Haydn Lane, told Channel Nine that more than one million people would fly over the image, made with non-toxic paint, over the next month.
A spokesman for the company said: "What better way to get behind the Wallabies than to create a massive wallaby getting behind a lion?"
But Victoria's planning minister was unamused, telling a local radio station last week it "better be 'ploughed in before the end of the day," adding: "It is crass. It is not the kind of welcome to Melbourne that I expect. To welcome international visitors to Melbourne with that image is not good enough."
Sportsbet says it will cost about $20,000 to get rid of the advertisement.
The Victorian Government had threatened to take legal action against the company because it was painted on Parks Victoria land without permission.
