setting the new world record for the Largest display of handmade paper dolls, according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/ . largest display of handmade paper dolls world record set by Amnah Al Fard

The Guinness World Records' record for the most flavours of ice cream displayed together is 985 and was achieved by Michael and Matthew Casarez (both USA) at Crook's Palace Restaurant in Black Hawk, Colorado, USA. The flavours ranged from vanilla to mango habanero to cinnamon cider bourbon, and were displayed together for 5 minutes.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest gathering of scarecrows in one location, which is 3,311. All were on display at the Cincinnati Horticultural Society's Cincinnati Flower and Farm Fest on Coney Island, Cincinnati, Ohio, USA.

Thirty-seven-year-old Amnah, despite her ill-health and recurring cough, has spent the last two years in creating her collection of 1,145 miniature dolls.

Each doll, she claimed, took her nearly three hours to create.

The 1,145 different dolls, which measured between two to three inches in height, were displayed at the Maraya Art Centre in Sharjah on July 7.
They were made using the quilling technique, otherwise known as paper-rolling or filigree. Quilling is an ancient art form that could be traced back to the 16th century when artists rolled pieces of thin strips of paper on a feather, or quill.

It's her mother's Indian roots that Amnah thanks for exploring her creative side. "India has so much to offer. And every time we travelled there, I was taken in by the culture and art."

"No one from Umm Al Quwain has ever won a world record, so this will be a good way of putting it on the world map. Inshallah."
